Should’ve done this years ago

I could just see me now, breaking it out right in the middle of Wal-Mart.

Another anniversary come and gone

I officially celebrated my 2 year quit smoking anniversary a couple days ago on June 2.  I must report that I am thrilled that I have made it 2 years.  I expect that this should be a permanent situation since the thought of taking a drag is accompanied with the reminder that I will get a headache and feel quite queasy for 2 days.  Not really my idea of anything pleasurable anymore.

Sayonara cigarettes…I miss ya, just not that much!!!

P.S.  If you wanna know how I did it, just ask…I am happy to share how I quit and what helped!  You can do it!

Its the final countdown

9 days…thats all, just nine more then SUMMER break! Woo Hoo!

Lazy mornings, stressless evenings, late breakfasts, the water park, the pool, and lots of sunscreen!

By July I’ll be having another countdown (a much longer one) to school starting but its still nice to look forward to summer!

p.s. Did ya’ll catch that 80’s hair? Woot!

Can’t resist

It’ll probably get pulled soon but I couldn’t resist…

80’s music really is cool

Just ask iTunes, 80’s tunes are ranking in the top 100 today!

Its really funny to peruse iTunes the day after American Idol.  Its not just the big finale either, you can see if after every new episode.  Songs that you haven’t heard in years suddenly pop up on the top 100.  I mean seriously, if Bryan Adams hadn’t been on AI last night, do you really think Summer of ‘69 would appear in the top 100 for today?!?!?!?  All those George Michael songs they sang last night, they are in there too!  The only place I ever hear George Michael anymore is on the local radio station that plays hits from the 80’s and 90’s.  Not saying I don’t love them but we all know thats its not the 80’s kids downloading the most music on a typical day on iTunes (well, I do my fair share but I am officially running out of gift cards!).

Lets just say that the 80’s will never die…I have Faith!

I won’t be stimulating the economy anytime soon

Dear IRS,

So glad you are sharing back the wealth that was once our earnings to begin with!  Your economic stimulus package is nice and I look forward to receiving it someday this year.  Your ‘with the times’ option of spliting our tax refund into 2 seperate accounts for direct deposit was so financially saavy and of course I took advantage of it.  Gotta try to up that savings account somehow.  However, you screwed me with it.  Oh no, no problem receiving our tax refund, it all went direct deposit super fast.  Economic stimulus money, NOT zipping in so fast.  Apparently the 2 account thing is a no-no with the ES money and I have to wait for a paper check in snail mail.  For the record, it took me days of perusing the FAQ to finally find that answer.  I figured if I had called, I’d be on hold until July 4th and, oh yea, you’ll be closed for the holiday.  You do realize that when I get the money mid-summer, we won’t have a need to spend it so it’ll just be economically stimulating my savings account.  Thanks IRS, your the best!

Yours in financial peace,

a tax payer

Desperate Housewives goes out with a bang!

Wayne needed to bite the bullet, thank goodness for that!  That ending though freaked me out a bit.  I started to curse my lack of tv interest since the writers strike wondering why I didn’t know this would be the last season but alas, cliff delivered, cliffhanger that is.   We all now HAVE to figure out why Susan is no longer with Mike.  And those Scavo kids, is that a suprise?  Way to bloat Gabby, welcome to our world! Gonna love that storyline!

Farewell for the summer Ladies, looking forward to Fall!

American Idol still has it

well, for the last couple weeks anyway. My AI history is shaky. I didn’t watch any of season 1 until the last few weeks. Then I was hooked for a couple seasons. I even voted a time or 2. Now, a decade few seasons later I’m back to watching the last couple weeks.  I really can’t tell you who won last year but I am hooked again here in season 7.  It never fails that I get so moved by their visits home that I just want them all to win.  Must be the mommy in me!  Its 9:56……drum roll……I can’t believe it….both David’s…woo hoo cause I am really liking David Cook.  Syesha will be fine, her contract surely is already printed!

Good luck David and David!  Until next week!

Happy Mother’s Day to me!

Its been a nice day thus far. I still wonder why Smed finds it necessary to wake me up before 8am every Mother’s Day. I wouldn’t mind sleeping in at all. It wasn’t awful, we all went out to breakfast but still, sleeping in would be mighty fine!

Its quite nice to out and about with your kids on Mother’s Day that way you get wished a happy one everywhere you go. I wonder though, how much one should assume to return the wish to other women? Can you really assume that the older cashier at Lowe’s or Publix is a mom too? What if you return the wish but she never had kids for some unfortunate reason? Or you don’t return it then you are an ass cause she wished it to you but you didn’t return it?

Well, anyway…Happy Mother’s Day to any of my blog readers who are moms or moms to be (S.M.).

Innocent my *cough

Dear Miley,

When someone says that a picture of your 15 year old Disney star, role model self half naked is art, don’t get snowed. Oh wait, you already did. Too bad for you that I have crossed you off my daughters’ “girls to look up to” list. I don’t even think you can crawl out of this one. You’ve just willingly joined the ranks of druggie Lindsay, knocked up Jaime and whack job Britney.

Dear Billy,

What exactly is the nature of your relationship with your daughter? No, wait, don’t answer that. You may have to register yourself…besides, I’m too skeeved out by the photo to really want to know anymore.
